We kayaked in Tomales Bay and stopped at Heidrun Meadery for a picnic: local mead and various Cowgirl Creamery cheeses. Then, headed north on Highway 1, through the ranches and farms of Marin County.
Endless hills and occasional eucalyptus groves.
A winding road and tall dry grass swaying in the wind.
No cell service and open blue skies.
Quiet California cow country and oyster shores.
We enjoyed that drive, and that summer day, very much.
